always together, and always will

When i recall my first encounters with my fellow housemates, i cant stop grasping how magical life could be.

I met shinli at the bus stop.
I met juanying at the laundrette.
I got to know puiyee when we were boarding the same flight to birm international.

Of course i knew lots of lots of ppl too! But destiny just bond these 4 msian girls of different personalities closely together in a very magnificient way.

Then here comes yifei, and there comes siew yen.
Both names which i often hear of before seeing the real person,
and never in my expectations that i ll be good friends with.
Ended up forming a huge royal family of kings, queens, lords and ladies,
and deliberately allowing june to be the princess she has always wanted to be.

This knit of friendship is the best achievement i ve obtained from warwick ♥ ♥

msia nite as a finalist

And so tis would be my final msia nite as a warwickian..
Times flies, isnt it?

If i do not rmb wrongly, tis is our first MSA event since the term..

The intial plan was to set up a 'boicott formal wear' team,

but in the end all of us dressed up in a potpourri:

gown, ambulance, sexy, OL, malay, hot

(does my outfit really looks like an ambulance) =P

 As usual we have play, traditional dances, singing, band etc.
In case u r wondering, our play's about may 13th,
ohhhhh in fact, we had a special guest sthing called Brunei/Malayan Armforce blah blah..
so some former soldiers/generals were invited as well..
one of them jz sat beside shin li and me..

SO SCARRYYY.. 

he told us he was in msia in 1954..
my first thought is: ohhhh so u r one of those 'murderers' in those days...

btw, the entire show was immensely pleasurable,
revolving around love, unity, humour, merry
one of the most spectacular one was tis sabahan dance,
is it called joget joget i forgot,
but i knew IT WASNT EASY AT ALL..

Not forgetting our pride: the best ever dikit barat!

The best amongst all, haha, i performed that in my first year..

Year after year, the steps are getting more n more complicated..

I cant deny that i was superbly thrilled by the choreographer and the performers..

 

but anyway,

there's a sense of pride in my heart seeing the 'ang moh's trully enjoyed the show

again, our Negaraku was great!

had never realised that it could be so pleasant hehehe..

sushi o tabemasu

It has been two lovely weeks with awesome food! Had a fabulous dinner in coniston home yesterday nite, cooked by pui yee's friend, Vicky, a girl whose hand can play great pieces on piano and cook extremely delicious dishes! The day b4 we had social for deepavali + hari raya haji, nasi lemak's served, complemented with lamb, fried chicken and an indian dessert which tasted like ice-cream!!

And last week, we've finally realised our plan to hv buffet sushi in birmingham! Though it's already Week 6. When we first arrived woktastic, i recalled that this is also the same route to NIA, where the annual All England Badminton Championship is held.. All the surprises and delight meeting wei wei came into light immediately.. ^^ 

 

Okay, back to the topic of the sushi restaurant, that's the decor and design, mainly focused on green and orangie, coupled with the murals, it was really really lovely and soothing..

The variety of sushi served wasnt very very impressive though, but it includes rice, noodles, desserts, pudding, which compensates for that.. Hungry enough, we had at least 10 plates each! =))  

  



Siew yen, who's not very very fond of sushi, opted to go for a bento box (pic above) instead.. Btw, it's just 6 pounds including the lunchbox, miso soup and something else (which obviously i've forgotten, sorrriee)..

The scenario which is quite common after every buffet is where we (or at least me) gets BLOATED! Moreover, since we paid thru to come over here, we r not definitely missing the opportunity to walk around and snap some lovely photos.. Not forgetting tis is the first time siew yen the newbie's been to birm..

And since we have not been shopping a lot recently, (sounds vague hmm?), siew yen got herself a nice greenie winter cap, shinli got herself a blue-ie blanket, i got myself a greyie coat (ahhaha, that's the main point), and pui yee got herself errrm...... well, nice memories!! 

 Yupe, and that's my current profile picture if u r aware of it :D

It was quite a rushing day for us, but of immense pleasure. We r definitely goin to birm again anytime sooner, when the christmas market's visitin.. And that's gonna be a trip filled with food, laughter, joy, warmth!! Okie, i shall go to grab my lunch and call home now.

barbeque-ing stress. spicing up joy

It is a shame that tis is the first msa event pinkiecloud attended tis term.. Sorreeee... Anyway the attraction of 'free food' and 'gathering' are always seducin..

Sitting ard the bbq pit.. Tis reminds me of the camping days..For ease of convenience and economic reasons, we used disposable pits.. Omgg, do u know how long it takes for my first chicken and frankfurter to be edible.. =P

The ladies.. :DJoanna and me.. Comparing the length of our hair to that when we came back in oct, u know hair does grow.. ^-^ After filling our stomaches, we moved over to play the monkey ball game! Sounds childish hmm? But that's the best essence to destress during this stressful-and-hatred exam period.. As u would hv know, pinkiecloud's bit clumsy playing ball games, the ratio of me being the monkey than non-monkey is more than 1! Everyone was running, shouting, screaming, pushing each other, grabbing the ball as it if is gold. There was actually once that i rather hugged the ball in my arms, unwilling to throw it. Cuz i knew that the moment the ball leaves my hand, im gonna be monkey again :D :D

It was a lovely day spent! Though there were lots of burnt food, lots of smoke, ohhh hv u told u tat we burnt our pit as well?? Lack of experience explains that.. And there were 3 big big BIG worms (they were as big as udons) that tried to 'add taste' to our food..

But it was great fun though!
From day to late evening.. We then popped onto our bus 12 whilst the sun's sets down.. :)

Anyway, that's a lovely day to remedy wei wei's defeat to lin dan.. Unfortunately we couldnt keep the prestigious cup in our homeland-msia.. And everyone was interrogating the datin the reason for wei wei's loss.. Well, he tried his best! They tried their best! The barrier of the Great Wall of China is just too strong.. Yet on a brighter note, the name of 'chong wei' simply pioneered the trending in twitter on friday! So just keep going, going and going.. The cup will return to us one day. Sun will shine, when we hv faith =)

fabulous mnite

Hey good morning. Happy chap goh mei!! Had a lovely evening yesterday with our msian nite.. This year's theme's puteri hang li po, revolving around her loneliness and despair when she came to malacca and married sultan mansur shah (still rmb ur sejarah?? hmm.. i doubt so..)
To kick off, that's our new SU building, built upon millions of pounds.. It's definitely better than the former building when i first came to warwick, but im sure areas for improvement when more restaurants or activity rooms could be put into..
Sat with ezzah and her bruneian friends for dinner. Dinner was a 3 course meal, with 'ar-chat' as starter and rice with rendang and chicken. For dessert, we had kebab as well as pisang goreng (which was really good!! But everyone is only entitled for one)..Gosh.. I really love this photo :DManaged to catch shin li (who's busy serving and ushering the VIPs) and got her into our photo.. SHe looked fine in her traditional costume right =) Tat's the stage! The event began with the national anthem. I cant describe my feelings when i listened to our familiar, old 'Negaraku'.. Honestly, I was pretty touched when the rhythm of 'Negaraku' filled up the entire hall. Hmm.. It's like something that all us, the msians, share, at the same thing sthing that distinguished our identity from others.. Hoohoo, emo emo** The above picture was our band crew, while the pic below was the opening dance..Our awesome spectacular dikir barat team.. If u stil rmb, i was in there performing last year! This year's dikir is absolutely so much challenging than last years, there were so much more movements and it was slightly longer than ours i think.. The round of applause proved that your hours of practice were definitely worthwhile, my fellow msians!!

I guess tat's it.. Hehe.. The rest are still photos of me anyway.. For me, I ve just completed a grp project which almost took my life last week will be embarking onto another this coming week.. Dont really like grp projects though.. To get a time to suit everyone is already an uphill struggles, what more to make decisions on the basis of different opinions and disagreements.. Anyway, tat's ow we developed teamworking as well :D

the nite before woohoo year

So we trekked down to the newly-opened cosmo for our cny reunion dinner after being excited for it for almost a week!

Compared to other chinese restaurants, i would say cosmo is the best amongst all i ve tried. The variety of food was fantastic. In terms of asian food, they hv tom yam soup, char-siu, duck meat, dim sum, noodles, crackers, naan bread; in terms of japanese, they hv teppanyaki, sushi and soba noodles; in terms of italian they have pastas; in terms of western they hv onion rings, mussels, fries, salad etc etc.. The best thing was indeed the desserts!! They were so pretty and colourful, forming a picturesque. Slices of cakes were as if queueing up to be 'selected' by u, and the jellies were absolutely so attractive and cute!

I know tat 'a picture worths a thousand words', but photography of food isnt allowed. So i could only resort to describe the food and the environment to the best of my ability. However, the only thing that actually disappoint me was actually the attitude of the staffs. Probably they were really busy, but hey it was chinese new year!! :)

Luckily the company compensates more than required for the disappointment. Thx to zhong, korine, yit tze and pamela for joining us for the dinner, adding more cheers on the supposed-to-be-spent-with-family reunion dinner. It was really enjoyable to hang out with u girls.. hopefully we ll spend more time together in future (hope u guys read tis..) =P

In fact, he commented tat since he's already staying with 3 female housemates.. so tis is just a little more than usual.. xD The awesome but definitely 'adds-weight' dinner was then followed by a short walk around city centre, and eventually to chicken cottage for take-away (because pinkiecloud has deeply fallen in love with chicken cottage's grilled chicken). Back at home, it was another tea-session where the S.H.E sat together around the table talking and chattin thru the nite. It was never dull to spend time with my two lovely housemates :)

The clock strucked 12 and it's officially cny in uk now.. Happy chinese new year to everyone! Has been sitting in front the laptop customising cny ecards to send out my greetings yesterday. For those who received ecards from pinkiecloud, hope you like it; for those who has not, u r not forgetten.. GONG XI FA CAI. XIN NIAN KUAI LE, and may the little woohoo year blessed u with happiness, joy, health, peace and wealth. Also thx to those who sent me cny wishes. tats very sweet of u all. Oh wait, n HAPPY VALENTINES DAY too! I got a suprise valentine gift today, but i ll tell u bout it tmrw?

freshers fair

Hi everyone, am just back from freshers fair and it has been a super good day! Has been standing right in front of my booth for the entire afternoon but it was all fun and joy. Met lots of people, and got quite a number of people signing up for our society! And to add the delight, there were free chocolates, doughnuts, stationaties and coupons everywhere :D
